Welcome to the Annunciation Church
Deus Providebit, God Provides
The best praise and thanks I can give to the Lord is to sit with Him in His most venerable state in His Real Presence.
Adoration is the only place I can be free from worldly distractions and talk one on one with Jesus – and sometimes be still and listen!
The inspirations I have received have brought me through many trying times.
My weekly hour has become a way to move from the worldly burdens and things that cloud my senses and keeps me from finding that inner room where I can sit to talk and listen with Jesus and all of heaven. Understanding of Scripture and other readings become easier. If I miss my weekly hour I sense the loss of a peace that can only come from our Lord.
This hour with the Lord is the best hour of the week for me. It makes everything in my life possible and gets me through.
Interview with Betty Ann Bedwell:
How long have you been spending one hour a week with Jesus?
Since weekly adoration was established in 2002.
Two people are required to be present when the Blessed Sacrament is
exposed. What do you do when you can not be present for your hour?
I call a substitute or the adoration coordinators.
How do you feel when you miss your weekly hour?
I really miss it. I enjoy the hour I spend with Jesus, and I believe everyone
would get a great inner closeness with the Lord.
Giving one hour of your time is not asking too much.
ls Jesus important enough to you to set aside a special hour each week to be with him?
Just one hour, once a week, is all that He is asking,
Imagine the President, the Cardinal or the Pope wanting you to set aside a specific hour each week to be with them. You would feel like the most important person in the world!! You would be overjoyed!! You would tell all of your friends about it!! You would be faithful every week in keeping your appointed time!! You would let nothing interfere with your meeting with someone so important as the President, Cardinal or the Pope. Should you treat Our Blessed Lord with any less dignity?
The above writing, i admit, I did copy from Fr. Martin Lucia.
When I read this, I could not help being moved. His words I found to be true. We all live in our own "little worlds" and like to keep it all to ourselves. We like to keep it under our control at all times. We don't stop to think where our "little world" comes from? We would not have our "little world" if it were not for JESUS!!
He gives us 168 hours a week. Out of that 168 hour, is it so hard to give back just ONE HOUR? If you have never spent one hour in complete silence with JESUS/ then it is something you need to experience. You can't imagine the feelings and emotions that are there!! You can and will fell the closeness of the HOLY SPIRIT, the inner depth of love, the satisfaction of being alive, the release of tension, closeness to your saviorwords can not describe the special feelings and emotions!!
I assure you that you will not regret spending just one hour with HIM, you just pick the time, HE WILL BE THERE TO GREET YOU
"Everything I have, do, or am are gifts from God. Adoration for only one hour a week is also one of His gifts."
I have been a "regular" since the first Eucharistic Adoration at Annunciation beginning in the '80's. My weekly face-to-face talk with Jesus has brought me through much sadness in my life: during my first husband's long illness with cancer and his death; the sudden death of my only sister; the death of my oldest son; and the many serious health issues and surgeries of my youngest son.; and my second husband's health issues. Many times I was alone in the Eucharistic Chapel and I spoke and cried aloud to him. Unburdening myself in His Presence lightened my load. Jesus, I trust in you.
